Sweeping Beauty by Niels Shoe Meulman

People passing by through Osaka Station City in Japan get to witness this beautifully executed man-made waterfall that prints images and text with spouting water.

WOW. If I had this as my alarm clock, I would always wake up on-time. But then still be late from the mesmerizing images. Fail me.

The Bends

I had a pretty crazy experience when I was young which involved the game of cops and robbers with my kid sis, and me falling into the deep end of my pool. As I raced around the pool trying to escape the cops (played by my sister), my training wheel on my bike got caught up on the edge of the pool and sent me down under. I will never forget seeing flashes of bubbles in between glimpses of the pool floor, and the beams of light from the sun reflecting off of what could only be my way out to salvation. Time seemed to have stood still at this moment. Weightlessness. However, there was no time to really think of what to do next. As the water began to consume me, I continued to flap and wail my arms until I finally felt the ground beneath my feet. I made it.

I was fortunate to live through what could have been a devastating freak accident and the fact that my parents put me through swimming lessons, I was able to get over my fear with the quickness. However, I developed this weird obsession and fascination with underwater imagery, submersion, and weightlessness. So aside from my lil survival story, check out these awesome oil paintings by Eric Zener. =)

Safe swimming.
